Social Anxiety Disorder
While everyone will face some anxiety at some time during their lives, it will be for various reasons. Some of these reasons are justifiable while at other times the anxiety becomes both chronic and persistent, manifesting itself as a mental illness that is more commonly known as social anxiety disorder.
The symptoms of social anxiety disorder include a high level of apprehension, fear and worry. This is a condition that is easily clarified – if a person is easily embarrassed or terrified of almost any social situation then social anxiety disorder can be easily confirmed. After a person has suffered with these particular symptoms once or twice, they begin becoming fearful of it every time they are in a social situation. Social anxiety disorder can be treated effectively with medication and psychotherapy. Another thing that work is cognitive behavior therapy. Most commonly, a person who is suffering from social anxiety disorder will be prescribed Paxil and Welbutrin.
However, since the 1990 there have been a lot more drugs available to help with social anxiety disorder. Many of these drugs have some serious side effects so doctors usually conduct a thorough history case study of the patient before prescribing them.
